On Monday’s Evening show I'll be letting you know how I'm getting on living without petrol for a week… It’s day one and I'll be coming in to the show on an electric bike (!) Last week I was talking about how expensive fuel is and if there are any real practical alternatives to using a standard petrol car. Off the back of that I had a call from John Heath from http://www.2wheelelectric.co.uk/ who suggested an electric bike would be just the job, so this week I'm borrowing one to see if they really work.
My commute to and from work is around 20 miles for the round trip, and involves 2 LARGE hills either side of Moody's boatyard on the A27. If you've ever ridden up or down these on a normal bike you appreciate just how long and steep they are. So I'm looking forward to seeing if it's any easier on with a bit of help!
UPDATE: 6.30pm Just ridden in to work - took around 35 mins as opposed to 20 mins by car, and I didn't have to get off and push even on the big hill on the A27 coming up to the Windhover roundabout. And I'm not the fittest person in the world so a good start!
As for the rest of the show - Rosie Francis will be in at 9 talking Chinese Astrology and Feng Shui, then dating coach and personal development expert Richard Tyler will be in at 10pm talking about how you can improve your self confidence.
Late night love songs at 11pm with another romantic dinner for 2 to be won!
