The Flower Song - Released 17th January in support of Scotty's Little Soldiers - A charity dedicated to supporting the children of men and women killed in action while serving with the British Armed Forces.
Constellation are a five piece Indie/Rock band based in Bournemouth, England. Constellation first formed in December 2009, each individual bringing their own influences installing a unique and commercially viable sound.
Since 2009 Constellation have been actively promoting their name and music building an ever increasing fan base not only in Bournemouth but moving into the London scene.
Ali Davis (Lead Vocals), Josh Wyatt (Song Writer/Rhythm Guitar), Martin Whitfield (Lead Guitar), Jason Harris (Bass) and Mark Harris (Drums), make up this extremely talented band. Constellation have written and dedicated their song 'FLOWER SONG' available for download NOW from iTunes & Amazon (all proceeds going to the charity) to Scotty's Little Soldier's which is a charity dedicated to supporting the children of men and women killed in action while serving with the British Armed Forces. About the band follows….
Ali Davis (Lead Vocals)
Ali grew up in Plymouth, UK and now lives in Parkstone, Poole. Ali's musical influences & likes include Stevie Wonder, Matt Bellamy (best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist, pianist, and main songwriter of the alternative rock band Muse), Usher, Kings of Leon, Dru Hill, Killers, Blackstreet, Kasabian, Keane, Coldplay, Kooks, Lauryn Hill and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Ali has been singing forever (in his words), but only finding his self belief in 2008 and becoming the lead vocalist of Constellation in 2009.
Josh Wyatt (Song Writer/Rhythm Guitar)
Josh was born in Birmingham, UK and moved to Bournemouth when he was around 5-6 years old. Josh went to college in Poole where he picked up the guitar; teaching himself how to play and shortly after writing his own song. From that time on Josh has continued to write and with a group of friends decided to form a band..... that band is now Constellation!
Josh's influences are "Whatever I have heard"!, liking himself to a sponge that soaks up many genres of music which have influenced his writing over the years.
Martin Whitfield (Lead Guitar)
Martin Whitfield currently lives in Poole Dorset and plays lead guitar in the band. Martin has been playing the guitar since he was 9 years old and been playing in bands since he was 11. starting to gig at 13/14 round his local area Martin played in a couple of bands then called 'size9' and 'kings of hearts.
Martin met Jason at music collage who introduced him to josh and so the band was begining. Martin introduced Mark to the band after having previously played together and spent time in Spain. Martin says "The band are all my closet mates and we are a team" - Martin likes all music, though admits not to being a big fan of Opera. he likes Gordon Haskell, Air Traffic, AC-DC, Kings of Ken, Jack Johnson, Rage against the Machine, Stereophonics and more.
Jason Harris (Bass)
Jason was born in Poole, UK and recalls living for music from a very young age. Having met Josh at 12 and forming a good friendship, including the music scene you could say this is where a part of Constellation was born. Jason started playing the guitar at 16 but moved to Bass when along with Josh and Martin they formed a band. Jason enjoys playing music and says it is far better when you are in a band with good friends. Jason says his influences in music are Red Hot Chili Peppers and bands of the same genre, however listens to all genres of music and if it appeals can often influence him.
Mark Harris (Drums)
Mark grew up in the North of England, however currently lives in Poole. Mark's ultimate dream is to play in front of a crowd that he cannot see the back of! Mark's musical influences include, Muse, John Mayer, George Duke and anything else that 'catches' his ear.
Mark has been playing the drums since junior school, most of which was self taught due to feeling restricted and bored by the rigors of musical grades..... he also plays a little Jazz Clarinet. Mark says his favourite food is Pizza with as many different meats on as possible within the boundaries of physics :-)
