CHRIS SIMMONS FROM BRIGHTON

Chris Simmons is starting to get some industry buzz . He has played live on radio before and recently played the first Music Publishers Association showcase, in Hammersmith. He was interviewed for PRS magazine and played a live track to them also. He's co written with Chris Difford and has supported him , Seth Lakeman , Ocean Colour Scene and others but is keen to spread the word along the south coast . He has played the Bournemouth Folk Club on a couple of occasions so has fans in these parts already. He's in the studio recording his first album . His live sets can be solo , more often he plays with Adam Mellor on second acoustic / b.vocal or a full band.

· ‘Squeeze’ are touring at the moment; they played Bournemouth recently and are in Southampton tomorrow night. · He’s written a song with Chris Difford. “The Grit That Makes The Pearl" will feature on Chris's Debut Record - Out May 2011.
· Two months after picking up a guitar Chris had written his first song, a month later he’d formed his first band and 2 months after that he was playing on Radio & TV.
· He spent all his savings on a one way ticket to Australia. He left with £200 and his guitar. He busked his way around the globe getting nearly 80 gigs along the way – He played on Australian National T.V and Radio, National Radio in New Zealand and many other independent stations.
· He’s played to big crowds of up to 60,000. · Shares his name with Chris Simmons, the English actor who is best known for playing DC Mickey Webb in The Bill (a bit random).
· Previously played Bournemouth Folk Club.
