Formed early 2009, Skaraman are an entertaining 4-piece from Portsmouth, who's vibrant and upbeat sound encompasses many different music styles with an emphasis on ska, rock and reggae, incorporating both strong creative melodies and thought provoking lyrics.
Instantly recognisable through their trilby hats, black shirts and red ties 'uniform', Skaraman spent most of 2009 playing venues such as Wedgewood Rooms, Talking Heads and The Railway in Winchester where they supported 1980's chart act The Blow Monkeys.
After a 6 month break and a fairly quiet start to 2010, Skaraman played a steady flow of gigs at local venues including, The Soul Cellar in Southampton and The Barn in Portsmouth. They then went on to welcome the addition of Chris Morgon on Keys and hit the scene hard by supporting ska-punk fun lovers [SPUNGE].
The band predominantly write their own material but also have a set of diverse and lively cover versions which are showcased occasionally.
With a superb 3 track debut demo already under their belts, Skaraman are currently working on getting back to the studio to record their first album as well as looking ahead to play at festivals in 2011.
