Biography

The Southampton based act formed less than a year ago from the ashes of a previous endeavour, which recorded a full length album in California and toured the UK extensively. Their goal is to fill a void left by their idols ‘No Doubt’ and ‘Blondie’, and Castelle are already well on the way to achieving their aspiration. Despite their average age of 19, the band devote themselves to the stage and studio fearlessly, proving to be years ahead of themselves with their quirky style and unquestionable musicianship.

We've already established ourselves in Southampton, and are looking for some airplay to help us along!

Dear Andy Please find enclosed photos taken recently when we visited my Son in Ireland. The Green one is a close up of the orb taken from the picture of my Granddaughter's head!! Hope you find these of some use. We are a very psychic family it seems to have been passed down through generations as my Nan was a medium for 72yrs I and my sisters have the psychic abilitys and so dose my children and my childrens children!! I have so many with the same effects, don't know if they are orbs, but every house I have lived in since having children, photos always seem to include these. also we have a lot of unexplained activity, the bath was filled with toy's at some point during the night a few days ago! Biography

Hailing from Liphook, Hampshire, Aimée is a 16 year old professional singer/songwriter who has been performing regularly on the local music scene in Berkshire, Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey. Following the release of "Afraid
of the Dark" and "Nowhere" on iTunes, Aimée is busy writing a whole raft of new material which she is currently trialling at local music evenings.

In June 2009, having qualified via audition through Regional Finals and then Area Finals at Princes Hall, Aldershot, Aimée performed in the National Finals of Live and Unsigned at Portsmouth Guildhall in front of judges, the late Malcolm Mclaren, Annie Nightingale (Radio 1), Dane Bowers and Martin O'Shea (Atomic Kitten's Manager) and was judged to be in the top 5 in the country in her genre. Aimée was also judged to be winner in the under 18's Singer/Songwriter category at Gigtime Media's "Spotlight 4 Stars" show, staged at Jongleurs flagship club in Battersea, South London.

Aimée has a love for performing at festivals and in 2011 has been booked to perform at Guilfest, WeyFest, Basingstoke Live, OnionFest, Madhurst and Loxwood Beer and Music Festival.

At 15 years old, the youngest performer on the Guilfest Backline Live Acoustic Stage, Aimée performing alongside music legends 10CC and Mungo Jerry delivered a contrasting set of self-penned alongside some well known classic and contemporary tracks. ABOUT THE BAND
Royalty is a young (16-17 year old) five-piece Indie band that is based in New Milton, Hampshire. We have been playing together since March 2009 at gigs, parties and events in our local area. Our influences are from many different artists, but at the same time create an original image and sound. - "An explosion of quality sound! They had the audience with them the whole way." was the Judges comments at the Area Finals at the Portsmouth Guildhall on the 21st May.
LOCAL YOUNGSTERS SEEK GLORY IN BATTLE OF THE BANDS

THEY believe they have the talent and will showcase this at the area finals of a prestigious national battle-of-the bands, this coming Saturday (May 21)

New Royalty - a group of five teenagers from the New Milton area – is taking to the stage at the Portsmouth Guildhall for the area finals of the Live and Unsigned Competition.

The Arnewood and Highcliffe and Brockenhurst College students wowed industry judges with a live audition to get this far.

The boys now have their eyes on the national finals at London’s 02 and the top prize of a £50,000 recording contract.

They already have a loyal following with more than 500 fans on their Facebook page.

Arnewood student Ben Steers, lead guitar and backing vocals, said: “We started as a group of friends getting together two years ago, simply because we enjoyed playing music.

“But we’ve moved on from a ‘garage’ band and have made a name for ourselves playing at local clubs and parties.

“We were asked to record a promotional CD for an energy drink which was handed out at its national launch at a music festival in Brighton.

“And our lead singer Luke Adams won the 2010 Talent Call at Bournemouth Pavilion.”

The group also consists of James Bailey on drums and percussion, Gorran Kendall bass guitar and backing vocals, and Jack Case keyboards.

Live and Unsigned says it is the UK’s largest national music competition for original unsigned acts and bands, with more than 10,000 acts from across the country entering every year.

The members of New Royalty say they are inspired by Muse, Kings of Leon, Placebo and Stereophonics among others.

Dorset girl Jazz Morley possesses a voice with such natural soulfulness beyond her 21 years of age that it possibly comes as no surprise to learn that her first public performance was the first year infants nativity play! Biography
Charley Macaulay’s sensational voice, uplifting sound and innovative writing style has won her much deserved praise and attention, and has established her as one of the UK’s most exciting new talents. Charley, who is just 17 years old, is a singer / songwriter who in 2009 came to prominence after winning the Under 18’s Live and Unsigned National Grand Final, beating over 10,000 other hopefuls from across the UK. Charley received her award from Radio 1’s Annie Nightingale and suitably impressed former Sex Pistols Manager Malcolm McLaren into the bargain!

2009 was a great year for Charley, as it also saw her reach Number One in the UK Undiscovered Chart with her refreshing, original track Superman, putting her on the radar of several record labels. She supported Anastacia and Escala in front of 8,000 people and completed a UK tour in the Autumn, taking in some of the country’s most prestigious venues including Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Portsmouth Guildhall, Sheffield City Hall and Newcastle’s Journal Tyne Theatre to name but a few. Having had such a great 2009 at such a young age, how can 2010 be any better?

Well, she now has an excellent, young new band around her: Chris Smith (lead guitar), Tom James (rhythm guitar), Dave Rice (bass) and David Orten (drums). Lucas Raye is an up and coming solo artist from the South, and an experienced, professional singer/acoustic guitar player.

His musical career has taken him across Britain from Newquay to Edinburgh, and he has been playing shows at a wide variety of venues for 6 years.

Lucas has had his original recordings and live performances played to hundreds of thousands of listeners on BBC radio on several occasions, and is currently recording and writing material for an upcoming E.P release.

His “one-man-band” style of performance is made possible with the use of the latest and most advance loop pedal on the market, the Boss RC-50 Loop Station. With this Lucas is able to record percussion, backing vocals and additional guitar parts live in front of an audience, and then incorporate those recordings into the song he is playing.

Julz and Esther are two songwriters based in Bournemouth, Dorset. Julz is the lead singer, esther is on piano/keyboards and vocals.

They are currently releasing their debut album (which they co-wrote together) 'The Knitting Circle' which is an album featuring their full band - will be doing acoustic songs from this album on the show.

Biog

Lucy’s been playing guitar since she was 10. Among the other instruments on the track, she is playing electro-acoustic on her single Wishing on a Star. When writing her own songs she nearly always starts working on the melody by playing around with different chord sequences and progressions.

She has a very good understanding of music theory (she passed her music GCSE O level a year early and got a grade A pass) and is accomplished in a variety of finger picking styles. Lucy has accompanied herself on electro-acoustic guitar at a number of local festivals in the past including the Gosport Waterfront Festival which she has been asked back to year after year since getting a standing ovation from a crowd of around 4000 when she did her first appearance there aged 11.

· They recently played their first headline gig in London and it was a blinder! Debut album “Ever, Never or Now?” is available to download at iTunes and more AND they’re going into the studio to start recording the next album about now (should be out by the Summer).

The Chase is a four-piece band from Portsmouth with plenty of energy, passion and a bag full of proper tunes. Originally formed in 2004, there followed the usual evolutions, revolutions and dissolutions, from which the current line up emerged in March 2010.

The Chase spent the best part of 2008 and 2009 polishing their sound and live presence with gigs around the Portsmouth and Southampton areas. This typical apprenticeship covering classic British rock songs by bands like The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones helped to form a vision for how The Chase should sound and build a solid fan base.

Ralph Humby joined the band in March 2010 and there was an instant chemistry, prompting an immediate entry to the studio to begin work on original songs that would become the debut album “Ever, Never or Now?”

One in eight women will get breast cancer – and the rate is rising. That’s so scary, folks.

Scientists blame obesity, alcohol and the growing tendency to delay motherhood for the record levels of the disease. But, there are more survivors of breast cancer these days if it’s diagnosed early.

I’ve written in this column before that when you are notified by your doctor for an appointment for breast screening, GO!

Many women can’t be bothered to keep that appointment. Well, get bothered ladies, because early diagnosis might just save your life.

Every year when the Cancer Research UK Race For Life passes my house, I go out and cheer the courageous women going by. Women who have lost a loved one to breast cancer, or survived the disease themselves.

I read the cards on their backs saying ‘doing it for you Mum’ and ‘I survived cancer’. I stand there folks, full of admiration for those hundreds of women running or walking to raise money.

I vow that one day I will raise money to help in the fight to eradicate this hateful disease. And now that day has come.

My 60th birthday is in April and I’m putting on a fabulous variety show in aid of breast cancer at the Kings Theatre in Southsea. Only last year, yet another wonderful woman sent me a text to say she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Thank goodness, she’s now on the road to recovery.

At the Kings on April 21, I want to raise thousands of pounds to help others.

All the wonderful acts have given their time for FREE – the Spinnaker Chorus, Lindy Hop and Argentine Tango dancers, Burlesque troupe, Stavros Flatley tribute, magician Mark Davies, Christopher Marlowe and Richard Rogers, a Liza Minnelli tribute, Dave Lynn and The Rose and Thistle Pipe and Drums.

BIOG

The Goodfoot hail from the deep south delta of Dorset, where they have been cooking up some home grown funk and soul. A perfect blend of smooth vocals, bluesy guitar, dirty horns, funky bass and fatback drums.

Recent award winners in the Dorset Unsigned Music Awards, the band has opened for acts as divrse as The James Taylor Quartet, Kiki Dee and Midge Ure.

The music leans towards the classic funk of the Average White Band and The Meters and soul divas such as Aretha and Chaka. However with their feet firmly planted in the present the music sits easily amongst current purveyors of sophisticated pop/soul including Noisettes, Rox and Sharon Jones.

The live show is led by the flamboyant Vicky Barents who’s on stage energy is as infectious as the rhythms laid down by the band. Explosion! is an award winning museum of naval warfare created within 18th century buildings at the Royal Navy's former armaments depot of Priddy's Hard, in Gosport, Hampshire. The museum is housed in a group of listed buildings which centre around the original powder magazine of 1771.
